Online Slope Formula Tutors
Online Slope Formula Tutors Slope is defined as rise over run. Slope is found by the change of y axis co-ordinates over the change in x axis co-ordinates. Slope of a straight line gives the orientation of the line with respect to the co-ordinate axes. The slope of the line is used in different formulas such as slope intercept form, slope point form etc. which help in writing the equation of the straight lines. Slope formula = change in y coordinates / change in the x coordinates. Example 1: Find the slope of the straight line passing through the two points (11, 15) and (2, 14)? Solution: Given are the two points (11, 15) and (2, 14) from a straight line. Slope = change in y coordinates / change in the x coordinates. Here for the given two points slope = (14 (15)) / (2 (11)). Slope = -1 / -9 Simplifying slope = 1/9. Hence slope of the straight line passing through the given points = 1/9. Example 2: Find the slope of the straight line passing through the two points (0, 0) and (2, 3)? Solution: Given are the two points (0, 0) and (2, 3) from a straight line. Slope = change in y coordinates / change in the x coordinates. Here for the given two points slope = (3 (0)) / (2 (0)). Slope = 3 - 0 / 2 - 0. Simplifying slope = 3/2. Hence slope of the straight line passing through the given points = 3/2.

What is a Fraction
What is a Fraction Fraction is a number which is written in the form a/b where a and b are any integers except b 0. Fractions are written in this form and hence they have numerator and a denominator. The place where the number is written in the top of the fraction is known as the numerator and the place where a number is written in the bottom is known as the denominator of the fraction. Fractions can be simplified further if possible and be converted to various other number forms. Example 1: Add the given two fractions: 3/8 + 1/8. Given expression: 3/8 + 1/8 Here both 3/8 and 1/8 are fractions and they are being added together. In order to add or subtract two fractions, we have to make sure that the fractions have the same denominator. Both 3/8 and 1/8 have the same denominator 8, hence they can be added directly! This gives: 3/8+1/8 = (3+ 1)/8= 4/8. 4/8 can be simplified by dividing the top and the bottom by the factor 4==4/8= 1/2 Therefore, 3/8+ 1/8 = 4/8 = 1/2 Example 2:Subtract the given two fractions: 17/4 5/4. Given expression: 17/4 5/4 Here both 17/4 and 5/4 are fractions and they are being subtracted together. In order to add or subtract two fractions, we have to make sure that the fractions have the same denominator. Both 17/4 and 5/4 have the same denominator 4, hence they can be subtracted directly! This gives: 17/4- 5/4 = (17- 5)/4= 12/4. 12/4 can be simplified by dividing the top and the bottom by the factor 4==12/4= 3/1. Therefore,17/4- 5/4 = 12/4 = 3/1.

multiplying fractions by integers
multiplying fractions by integers There are different mathematical operations in math such as addition, subtraction and division. Multiplication is one of the arithmetic operations used in different branches of mathematics. Multiplication is denoted by a cross sign . Multiplication can be used between different types of numbers such as integers, fractions, decimals and many more. Integers are the positive and negative whole numbers on the number line. Fractions are numbers that can be expressed in the p/q form. Here p the numerator and q is the denominator of the fraction Example 1: What is the answer when the integer 6 is multiplied to the fraction 5/4? Solution: Here the given integer is 6 (positive number) and the fractions is 5/4. Multiplying the integer to the given fraction gives: 6 x 5/4 = 30/4. The GCF of the numerator and denominator (30 and 4) is 2. Dividing the numerator and denominator by 2. This gives (30 2)/ (4 2) = 15/2. Hence the answer is 15/2. Question: Multiple choice question (Pick the correct option.) What is the answer when the integer -5 is multiplied to the fraction 3/10? a) -4/5 b) -3/2 c) 3/2 d) None of these. Correct answer: option b. Here the integer is -5 (negative number) and the fractions is 3/10. Multiplying the integer to the given fraction gives: -5 x 3/10 = -15/10. The GCF of -15 and 10 is 5. Dividing the numerator and denominator by 5. This gives (-15 5)/ (10 5) = -3/2.
What is the Formula for Density
What is the Formula for Density Density is a physical property of a substance and it is the measure of the amount of mass in a given standard measure of volume. Density is a unique property and hence it is different for different substances. Therefore density is given as mass per unit volume and its formula is written as: density, d = (mass) / (volume). The unit of density depends on the unit of mass and unit of volume, and while measuring the standard density of a substance, density is usually calculated with respect to standard volume. Example 1: An object has a mass of 40grams. If the object has a volume of 6cm3, then what is the density of the object? Given: mass of the object, m = 40g Volume of the object, V = 6cm3 Density, d = (mass) / (volume) Now we apply the above formula to the given information of the question. This implies, density of the given object, d = (40g)/ (6cm3) This gives, density, d = 6.67g/cm3 Therefore, density of the given object is 6.67g/cm3 Example 2: A liquid in a beaker has a mass of 25grams. If the liquid occupies avolume of 100mL, then what is the density of the liquid? Given: mass of the liquid, m = 25g Volume of the liquid, V =100mL Density, d = (mass) / (volume) Now we apply the above formula to the given information of the question. This implies, density of the given liquid, d = (25g)/ (100mL) This gives, density, d = 0.25g/mL Therefore, density of the given liquid is 0.25g/mL
The Secret to Playing Guitar
The Secret to Playing Guitar Suzy S. What is the secret to great guitar playing and making the guitar talk? No matter how many complex techniques you work on, the most important thing you can learn is how to play with feeling. Playing with feeling is the same as thinking of what you want to say in a conversation when you talk. When youre playing in a group, the importance of listening to the other players cant be understated. Listening to Others When youre playing with other musicians, donât just react to yourself and what you play. Listen to what others are doing and learn from them. This makes you a better teammate and a better guitar player. Jamming and playing with others is better when everyone plays. When you listen to others, youll also develop your ear with your own playing. For example, you may start noticing the differences between scales. The minor pentatonic is gritty and has some bite to it. The major pentatonic has a more old-time, smooth blues feel to it. Of course, making these sound like music as opposed to scales is an art unto itself, and thatâs why you really have to listen. Think of notes as being different colors in the crayon box. Another part of listening is knowing when to play and when not to. Music is like talking; you have a moment where you pause to breathe in and out. Play and leave space for others to play, too. Learning the Basics After youve learned the basics, you can then expand into the more complex patterns on the guitar, having fun as you learn and go forward. As youre learning and picking up new ideas and songs along the way, it becomes more and more fun. A great place to start is with these five basic scales: 1. Blues Scale 2. Minor Pentatonic Scale 3.Natural Minor Scale 4.Major Pentatonic Scale 5. Major Scales Work on these five basic patterns in each key, and learn the formulas for the scales. A lot of rock and blues and some folk Music is based on these scales; use these and build road map of the neck. This map gives you a clear picture of where you are going. You are not lost. Playing becomes easy. Learning the guitar becomes easier the more you practice. The more you put into it the more you get out of it.
